Christmas at Hogwarts is never ordinary, much less so for Harry Potter, a boy wizard.
During his first Christmas, Harry was sent an Invisibility Cloak that when put on, would
render the wearer completely invisible to all those who do not have a third eye (Mad-Eye
Moody). Harry decided to wear this great gift, even though he did not know who it was
from, into the Restricted Section of the library. He was looking for a book that would tell
him something about a man named Nicholas Flammel, the maker of a unknown item
hidden beneath a trap door in the third floor corridor, and guarded by a three-headed dog
named Fluffy. Harry does not find what he's looking for, and is almost caught. This is also
the night that he discovered the Mirror of Erised. In it, he could see the vision of his
Mother and Father, who past away when he was a baby, looking down at him and smiling.
He spent time staring at that mirror two more nights after that, and finally Albus
Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts had it removed to another location. It just
didn't due to dwell on dreams, he said. And forget to live.

Harry's second Christmas at Hogwarts was a difficult one. The year had been a
complicated one due to everybody thinking that Harry was the heir of Slytherine, and
inherently evil. Students actually thought that Harry was the one trying to harm the other
students. His friends though, were loyal to them, and this Christmas they were all together.
To find out who the real heir of Slytherine was, Harry, Ron and Hermione decided to try a
very complicated potion that would turn them into a few of Draco Malfoy's friends, who were
also staying at Hogwarts during the Holidays. The potion went well for Harry and Ron. They
were transformed temporarily into Crabbe and Goyle, Malfoy's most trusted friends.
Hermione though, had to go to the nurse after her spell went horribly awry. She looked more
like a cat than like any of Malfoy's friends. Ron and Harry were able to talk to Malfoy
without his knowing who they really were, and discovered that he also didn't know who the
real heir of Slytherine was. Hermione spent several weeks in the hospital wing to rid herself
of the cat hair, because Polyjuice Potion is not to be used for animal transfiguration.

Harry's third Christmas at Hogwarts was fairly quiet. He received a Firebolt
broomstick, the best you can buy, from yet another anonymous giver. Hermione told
McGonagall, professor of transfiguration, about the strange gift, and she took it away
from Harry to have it checked for spells. Harry was annoyed with Hermione for
meddling. Ron was also angry with Hermione. Her new cat continuously tried to kill
his old pet rat, Scabbers.
Harry and Hedwig
The fourth Christmas at Hogwart's was very exciting! For the first time in a very long time,
the Tri-Wizard Tournament was going on, and Harry was one of its competitors. The
tournament was not just for those at Hogwarts. Two other school brought their students to
the Hogarts school to compete. Since there were so many students, and it was such an
exciting time, a Christmas Ball was planned. Harry's date was Parvati, Ron's was Padma,
Malfoy's was Pansy Parkinson and Hermione surprised them all by arriving with a tournament
favorite and Quidditch player, Viktor Krum. Harry and Ron both think that Hermione is
cavorting with the enemy, and Ron and Hermione are barely on speaking terms. Dobby, the
house elf that Harry met during his second year at Hogwarts is a very big help to Harry during
the tournament, and also made Harry a pair of socks for Christmas. Socks are Dobby's
favorite clothes, and knowing this, Harry and Ron both give Dobby several socks of their
own.
